How to create your Will online

Setting up your Will using our online platform couldn’t be easier. Within as little as 30 minutes you can provide certainty and security for your loved ones and peace of mind for yourself.

Create an account on our online Wills platform

Sign up to our secure online platform with your usual email address. It’s quick and easy—and we’ll automatically send you a link so you can come back and finish the process later if you need more time.

Provide your basic personal information

We’ll need to know your full name and date of birth—along with the name of your spouse or partner if you have one. We’ll also need your address details.

Tell us about your dependents

We’ll ask you for the names of any children that you may have who you would like to benefit from your Will. You can also include any of your spouse or partner’s children.

Appoint guardians for any children

If you have children under 18 you may wish to nominate a family member or close friend to act as you child’s guardian in the event of your death.

This will help to ensure that your children are looked after in accordance with your wishes, rather than leaving them in the care of the state.

Nominate your executors

You will need to appoint somebody who will ensure that the instructions in your Will are properly carried out. They will be your Executor.

An Executor can be a professional, like a solicitor, but it can also be a trusted family member or friend. If it is the latter, then please make sure you discuss this responsibility with them in first!

Add your funeral wishes

This is your opportunity to say how you would like your funeral to be conducted and what should happen to your body after your death.

You might want a favourite piece of music played, or your ashes scattered in a special place. Perhaps the funeral service should follow the traditions of a particular faith, or be held in a special location.

Decide who gets what

One of the main purposes of a Will is specify who will benefit after your death from any assets or property that you own.

You may want to leave everything to a spouse or partner, or perhaps you have possessions with particular financial or sentimental value that you would like to leave to specific individuals.

You will also need to say how your remaining assets should be distributed once any specific gifts have been made.

Include a backup plan

Sometimes it is not possible to make all the gifts that you have set out in your Will. What if the intended recipient has already died? Or they decide not to inherit for some reason?

You can cover this eventuality by making provision for “Substitute Gifts” where you stipulate who should benefit from any failed gifts.

Check all your details

Nearly there! You will have a final chance to review the information you have given us before we create your online Will. Once you are happy that the details accurately reflect your situation and wishes you can proceed to the final step.

Choose your package and pay

If your wishes are straightforward, choose our Premier package, make your payment and download your Will straight away.

If your wishes are more involved—or you just want added peace of mind—choose our Superior package to have one of our qualified solicitors check over your Will before it is made available for download.

If you would like to receive a printed and bound hard copy of your Will in the post following our solicitor’s check, choose our Superior Plus package.

You also have the option to include a Mirror Will for your spouse or partner.

Sign and date your will

All that is left for you to do is sign and date your Will to make it a legal document. Don’t forget to tell your loved ones that you have made a Will—and make sure they know where it is kept!

Relax!

Congratulations—you have now created your online Will! Now you can rest assured that your affairs are in order and your loved ones will be taken care of when you go.
